The South Downs

Sussex is an extremely picturesque county. Being in the very south it enjoys some of the best sunshine in the United Kingdom and is known as the sunshine coast.

The South Downs, the latest National Park to be created in England for over 60 years fall mostly in Sussex and offer stunning downland scenery along with impressive white chalk cliffs in the east.

Sussex also has many fine beaches especially at the Witterings and popular cities such as Brighton and Chichester.
