Northash is a one bedroom apartment that is presented to the same exacting standards that are found in the owner’s own home. In other words it is a very comfortable place to stay that offers private and spacious accommodation for two. Located beside the owner’s home in the beautiful area of West Chiltington, this is a great base for the South Downs on the boundary of the newly designated National Park and with the RSPB Pulborough Wildbrooks only a mile away. This is one of the most sought after residential areas in West Sussex with many beautiful homes enjoying a peaceful rural setting. Such a setting makes a great place to be for a few well earned days away.
Northash offers ground and first floor accommodation with the living room, a bright and airy double bedroom and modern fitted bathroom upstairs with a good sized kitchen that is comprehensively equipped on the ground floor. It is an excellent working of space. There is easy parking and the facility for secure parking if bringing a classic car to one of the Goodwood motorsport events or for any special occasion.
West Chiltington and beyond
The newly designated South Downs National Park is within a mile from West Chiltington. The Wildbrooks on the flood plain at nearby Pulborough offers many excellent walks along the banks of the River Arun and uninterrupted views south towards the Downs. The Pulborough Wildbrooks also contains one of the RSPB’s major reserves in the south and it all falls within the new National Park. We carry a link to the RSPB reserve within “Places to visit” on our website.
Immediately behind Northash is the West Sussex Golf Club which is regularly judged one of the outstanding inland courses in Britain with “a priceless oasis of heather, sand, heath and trees beneath the Sussex Downs”. For any golf lover staying at Northash it is very convenient indeed.
Three miles south in the direction of Storrington and nestling at the foot of the South Downs is Parham House a magnificent Elizabethan home that is a real jewel. Again have a look at it under “Places to visit” - a half day there is time well spent.
In the other direction is the historic market town of Petworth. It is best known as the location of the stately home Petworth House and deer park which was landscaped by Capability Brown. The house and its grounds are now owned and maintained by the National Trust. The magnificent country house contains an internationally renowned art collection with numerous works by Turner. Petworth itself was immortalised in his paintings. The town is full of quaint houses and cottages, many within their own courtyard settings. They are interspersed with antique shops and tearooms so it makes the ideal place for a stroll following a visit to Petworth House and Park.
This area of West Sussex has a variety of events that occur through the year from Goodwood racing and the motorsport meetings, to the Arundel Festival, racing at Fontwell and polo at Cowdray. Northash makes a great base to enjoy any of these - it is within a twenty minute drive of them all.
