" Can't fault the cottage at all. Lovely and quiet yet close to lots of nearby places of interest. The owner was lovely and helpful. The cottage itself was equipped with every possible item you could require, especially in the kitchen. The bread, milk and butter on arrival was a nice touch. Free wifi also a bonus. Everything we could have wished for and more, and all for a very competitive price."

Easter Cottage is one of five beautifully converted farm buildings at New House Farm in the very small hamlet of Norton, close to the village of Aldingbourne. The conversion of these buildings is almost complete with the exception of an open sided barn that is still to be converted however it does not detract from the setting the cottage enjoys.

The finish is exceptionally high and the cottage gardens are a delight. If your visit is to take in such events as Goodwood, or Fontwell races or you are coming to enjoy this beautiful area maybe taking in Chichester, Arundel and the Sussex coast, then the cottage will be a perfect and most comfortable home for you. The garden faces west and makes a lovely little oasis from which to enjoy the evening sun.

Easter Cottage sleeps two with an ensuite bathroom to the bedroom and super king sized bed. The living room and kitchen area is an excellent space with vaulted ceiling, a feature woodburning stove and folding doors to the garden. The room also has a sofa bed to just allow that little bit more flexibility, and in addition there is a separate cloakroom off the main room.

The cottage is comprehensively equipped, and we feel represents very good value. Overall the site is tidy although we stress not complete, and we hope it won’t disappoint.

Aldingbourne and beyond.

New House Farm is mid way between Arundel and Chichester. It is within three miles of Goodwood, so just perfect for the Festival of Speed and the Revival Meeting and is within two miles of Fontwell Races. The beaches at Climping and Bognor Regis are within five miles. Climping is a beautiful unspoilt length of beach of Special Scientific Interest. At its eastern end, beside the mouth of the River Arun, is the West Beach Café built by local craftsmen using materials sourced locally. It is worth a visit, the fish and chips come highly recommended!

Arundel is a historic market town, dominated by the symbolic castle and the rising spire of the cathedral. It offers a plethora of craft and antique shops, as well as restaurants and tearooms. It’s a great place to wander and just enjoy its hospitality.

Arundel Castle is the seat of the Dukes of Norfolk, and is set in 40 acres of sweeping grounds and gardens. The castle has been seasonally open to visitors for nearly 200 years. It is one of the great treasure houses of England, and is home to priceless works of art in stunning rooms. Climbing the 131 steps to the Keep, which dates from the 11th century, to take in the views over Arundel and The South Downs is definitely worth the effort.

Beyond the castle grounds Arundel Park extends north towards the Downs offering many fine walks. Within the park along the Gallops the John Dunlop Stables exercise their horses daily, which makes for an impressive sight if you can time your walk just right!

Three miles to the west of Easter Cottage, Chichester is one of the great well-preserved Georgian cities in the UK. It has played a key role in the affairs of Sussex since at least Roman times. The city’s broad streets are packed with Listed buildings, headed by the towering presence of the cathedral, now home to a family of peregrine falcons who swoop over the city at dusk
The city centre is neatly enclosed within the ancient city walls, which helps to make Chichester compact and pleasant to explore on foot. It is a cosmopolitan, vibrant and friendly city proudly combining two thousand years of heritage with a lively lifestyle.

Chichester is also home to the famous Festival Theatre. It is renowned for its quality of productions, as well as featuring many world premieres. We have a link to the theatre from our website under "What's on"
