The Brighton & Hove Food and Drink Festival is the largest festival of its kind in the south of England. It is now running throughout September and will finish on Tuesday 4 October 2011.
With local producers, growers, restaurants, bars and food retailers firmly at it’s heart, it’s a showcase of the fantastic food, drink and hospitality to be found in the city and surrounding Sussex.
This month-long homage to Brighton, Hove and the wider Sussex food scene takes in pretty much every taste-related activity you could think of… For foodies who like to keep it local, the Big Sussex Market, which attracted over 40,000 people last year, is a shopping experience without parallel.
Forthcoming hightlights include; the Big Sussex Market and Live Food Show this weekend 10 and 11 September; the Sussex Cheese Bowling Competition; and the Sussex Oktoberfest featuring Sussex and Continental beers, lagers and ciders.
Brighton is so central which makes it easily accessible from Hastings, Bexhill and Eastbourne in the east and from Chichester and Arundel in the west. Road and rail links north are also excellent allowing easy access for a short break from London or in fact to anywhere in Sussex.
