Fast and slow days out in Sussex
Goodwood Festival of Speed (26-28 June) is one fantastic reason to visit Sussex this month - and if you're booked into one of our luxury holiday lets for the week I'm sure you're revving up already. If you're planning ahead for next year we have some stunning holiday homes on the South Downs near Goodwood. Click here to view our properties within a good location of Goodwood. Situated on the beautiful South Downs and not far from some lovely Sussex beaches, Goodwood is also within easy reach of our selection of glorious seaside properties around Chichester, so do have a look at our website.
Don't forget there's the Moving Motorshow on 25 June as well, and I hope you're coming to visit us for the horses and hats at Glorious Goodwood later this summer - I wouldn't like anyone to miss out!
If you're looking for some quieter entertainment, the Art Trails and Open Studios all around Sussex are starting this month and always well worth following. Many of our coastal and country towns and their surrounding villages hold lots of formal and informal exhibitions by local artists over a series of weekends every summer. Some are in galleries, some in barns and halls, others in private homes where often several artists get together to exhibit in one space, sometimes with refreshments on offer. It's a lovely way to visit some pretty Sussex villages and you could tie it in with visiting some National Gardens Scheme properties for a bucolic day out in the June sunshine.
In June, Horsham Open Studios takes place over two weekends in the second half of the month (incidentally, Horsham has yet again come out in an official survey as one of the happiest places to live in the whole country) while Worthing Art Trail is over three weekends. Other areas do it differently - the state-of-the-art Towner Gallery in Eastbourne, for instance, hosts work by artists and makers from all over East Sussex from mid-July to September. Wherever you're staying in Sussex, do check local press and websites for what's on near you.
