As the Sussex visitor attractions start to open for the new season, one of the first is Newhaven Fort in East Sussex. The fort opens on March 1st and makes a fantastic day out for both adults and children.
The fort has a close association with the Second World War and preparations for the D-Day landings, and is a fine example of an English fortification. Enjoy breathtaking panoramic views from the ramparts of both the Sussex Coast and inland to the South Downs, and explore the echoing tunnels built into the chalk cliffs.
