Here in Sussex our South Downs National Park is the nearest national park to London, barely an hour away by train! So if you are planning to come to the capital to celebrate the royal wedding then why not do so from Sussex?
Our national day's holiday on Friday 29 April 2011 makes for a superb long weekend with the May Day Bank Holiday tucked onto the other end. Not forgetting of course the previous weekend is Easter, so we have a run of three short working weeks, What a prospect!!
The royal wedding will no doubt provide a real shot in the arm, helping lift the mood across the country and generating a feel good factor.
The likelihood is many will come to the city to enjoy the celebrations. We say, make it a holiday event. Book a holiday cottage in our beautiful county and we'll ensure your rail tickets to London are waiting for you on your arrival. What could be easier? Our fast rail links from Brighton, Chichester via the picturesque Arun Valley line to London Victoria, and from Portsmouth through Petersfield to London Waterloo give easy access into the city.
So have a decent break, come and see the nearest national park to London as part of your royal celebrations!
