The Sussex holiday cottage blog » The Loke
The Loke is a beautiful, large, 1920’s holiday cottage, hidden off a side alley in the ancient Citadel area of Rye in East Sussex. The perfect base for exploring the historic town, with its medieval past and links to smugglers in times gone by. The modern, family friendly holiday cottage has everything you could need to enjoy your holiday and the most amazing, far stretching views of the Romney Marsh, Rye Harbour and, on a clear day, towards the sea. The Loke’s central position makes it perfect for a family or friends Christmas or New year stay. As the holiday cottage can comfortably sleep eight guests, it works very well for two families or a large group of friends and is, in my opinion, a better option than a hotel at this time of year. With The Loke’s modern luxuries and individual features, you really will have a comfortable stay in a home from home.
At Christmas time the town buzzes with festive cheer and a warm welcome is always felt at many of the lovely restaurants and coffee shops scattered about the town. Visitors are spoilt for choice, from quaint tea rooms, to fine dining, authentic Italian cuisine, to good old fish and chips. Rye has a good selection of unique, independent boutiques, along with lots of antique shops to browse and pick up that last minute Christmas present.
And what could be better than a stroll along the stunning Camber Sands on Boxing or New Year's day, to clear the head and walk off the Christmas excesses. If you would like to book The Loke for Christmas or New Year, we are offering a 15% festive discount.
