A fantastic new event to add to your summer calendar and one, ‘no pun intended’ full of hot air!!

The Eastbourne International Hot Air Balloon Festival is set to take place over the weekend of 29th and 30th July 2017.  With up to 25 hot air balloons taking off at dawn and dusk on the Saturday and dawn on Sunday in Hampden Park, Eastbourne, weather permitting.

The festival will open on Saturday with helicopters and a chance to get a really good, close up view and chat with the pilots. Live local entertainment throughout the days with a wide selection of food and drink available from a variety of outlets. A floral marquee with demonstrations and competitions on both days and a gardeners question time session on the Saturday. Around 100 classic cars from a local club will parade each day in their areas, so something for the car enthusiasts amongst you. For the children there will be a miniature steam train, bouncy castle, face painting and a play area. Not wanting to leave out our furry friends, an annual dog show too.

A spectacular Nightglow show will take place at 9pm on the Saturday, with the balloons inflated, tethered and firing their main burners to the music conducted by their musical director. A super firework show closes the Saturday show, finishing about 10pm.

So whether you are staying in one of our holiday cottages close by or visiting for the day, there really is something for everyone. For more details about the event visit their Facebook page
