The fabulous open plan living space is bright, warm and welcoming with the stunning backdrop of the surrounding countryside viewed through the large patio doors. This space certainly has the wow factor!

At the opposite end of the spacious living area is a large dining table opposite the stylish fully fitted kitchen. The large central island is equipped with bar stools making it an ideal spot for breakfast or a quick coffee before heading out for the day. Kitchen amenities include a large hob and oven, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and a Nespresso coffee machine. There is also a useful separate cloakroom which houses the washing machine and works well as a boot room for those muddy days on the Downs.

The second bedroom has a kingsize double bed and the third bedroom has two single beds (which can be a superking double on request). West Burton and beyond

West Burton is one of four very picturesque villages that sit below the scarp slope of the South Downs close to Bury Hill. Bury is a mile to the east, while Bignor and Sutton are both within two miles to the west. There are two fine local pubs to be found locally both offering local ales and good hospitality.

Beaufort Barn has immediate access onto many local paths and West Burton is certainly well placed for enjoying the South Downs. A footpath climbs up from the village, however if you are feeling less energetic there is a car park at Whiteways by Bury Hill or you can take the lane to the Downs from Bignor and park at the top beside the South Downs Way. The South Downs Way is one of 15 National Trails in England and Wales and was the first bridleway National Trail in England. It is also the only National Trail to lie entirely within a National Park. Stretching from the ancient cathedral city of Winchester in the west, first capital of England, through to the white chalky cliffs of the Seven Sisters and Beachy Head at Eastbourne in the east, almost all of its stunning 100 mile length is blissfully off-road.

The village of Bignor is closely linked to the Romans. Here you will find the Roman Villa, a home and farm with world class mosaic floors that was a significant settlement in the 3rd Century AD. We include a link to Bignor Roman Villa under 'Places to visit' on the website.

A short distance from West Burton lies Arundel, a historic market town dominated by the symbolic castle and the rising spire of the cathedral. It offers a plethora of craft and antique shops as well as restaurants and tea rooms. It's a great place to wander and just enjoy the streets lined with Georgian and Victorian buildings. Arundel Castle is the seat of the Duke of Norfolk and is set in 40 acres of sweeping grounds and gardens. The castle has been seasonally open to visitors for nearly 200 years. It is one of the great treasure houses of England and is home to priceless works of art in stunning rooms. The 11th Century Keep has amazing views over Arundel, the South Downs and towards the Sussex coast. There are 131 steps to climb in order to get to the top, and it's well worth the effort.

The historic market town of Petworth is just 15 minutes drive to the north of Beaufort Barn and is the location of the stately home Petworth House and deer park which was landscaped by Capability Brown. The house and its grounds are now owned and maintained by the National Trust. The magnificent country house contains an internationally renowned art collection with numerous works by Turner. Petworth itself was immortalised in his paintings. The town is full of quaint houses and cottages, many within their own courtyard settings. They are interspersed with antique shops and tearooms so it is worth taking the time to browse having visited Petworth House.

Beaufort Barn is also perfectly placed to enjoy the events hosted at Goodwood each year. A short drive further on is the cathedral city of Chichester with all of the attractions that this cosmopolitan city offers.
