A very busy calendar of events throughout the year, including Scallop week, Rye Jazz festival, Rye Arts and Music festival and the wonderful Rye bonfire spectacular.

A good start to any stay in Rye, is a visit to the town’s Heritage Centre. Here you can watch the Town Model’s ‘Sound and Light’ show, which retells Rye’s colourful, historic past. Then take a trip upstairs and play the ‘Old Penny Pier Machines’ and giggle with the ‘Laughing Sailor’ or have your fortune told by ‘Sidney Knows’! If antiques interest you, then visit the Strand Quay where you can wander amongst the small shops and bag yourself a bargain.

For the days when the weather is a little below par, why not visit our Kino cinema, all the latest films and even on occasions, live screening performances of Opera and Ballet from the London theatres. For the sporty among you, there is the Sports centre with pool.

The stunning sandy beach at Camber Sands is three miles away, with its safe bathing and miles of dunes the perfect beach whatever the weather. A short drive is Rye Harbour Nature Reserve, where you can walk along the sea wall and out on to the marshes to enjoy the beautiful flora and fauna.

The towns of Hastings and Ashford are around a thirty minute drive away and here you can get a mainline train to London, if you wish to explore the capital for a day. Likewise from Ashford you can take a day trip to France on the Eurostar or pick up the channel tunnel from Folkestone, approximately a 45 minute drive.

Lovely week in Rye

"Had a lovely weeks stay in Daisy cottage, just a 15 min walk downhill to Rye ( a little longer coming back ). The accommodation was clean and comfortable. Rye is a lovely small town with plenty of good place to eat. Plenty to see and do around about. Would stay here again if coming to this area."

An enjoyable stay in Daisy.

"My partner Aminta and I had a lovely and enjoyable stay in Daisy. Though the bath with shower needs a shower curtain. Also oven gloves would be useful in the kitchen as would more cupboards for dry and canned food."

Wonderful week in Daisy

"Great little studio.Very comfortable. Short walk into town & lots to do nearby. A proper stand up shower over the bath would have made it perfect for us, as we are getting on a bit, but we managed ok. Owners very helpful when there was an electrical problem & quickly fixed. Delicious welcome goodies provided and suggestions as to what was on in the area that week. We visited Fairlight, Rye Harbour ( where we saw Acocets) & took a train into Brighton one day. Also explored some of the 1066 route. We both thoroughly enjoyed our week & loved the town of Rye. We also enjoyed an evening in the little cinema & met many very friendly local people."
