Holiday cottage, Bosham, West Sussex
Lovely Stay at Manorside
"The property was perfect! The owners wanted you to feel at home and we certainly did. The property was immaculate and everything was there that you needed, so much so we wished we could buy it! It was also in a fantastic location, walking distance from several pubs and cafes, only a 20 minute drive to the centre of Chichester and we spent a fantastic day at Arundel Castle and Gardens which we would highly recommend a visit to. We would definitely recommend this property and the area."
This beautifully presented home was the perfect holiday retreat for its owners who love their sailing, and spending their weekends in Bosham. So much so they decided to relocate permanently to this area of outstanding natural beauty and enjoy life to the full.
Manorside is now available for your enjoyment and is set up perfectly. It is beautifully furnished and enjoys an ideal central location in this picturesque quayside village. The living room, dining area and kitchen make a stunning social space with full width bi-fold doors that open onto the garden. For up to six guests it offers spacious accommodation to relax in complete comfort. At the front of the cottage there is a second living room or 'snug', somewhere private to rest, watch some TV, or leave the children to spend time on their own. With a finish to this standard you would expect it to be comprehensively equipped, and it certainly is down to every last detail that includes a modern electric Aga, and a large wine cooler in the dining room.
Upstairs there are three bedrooms and in addition a small study should anyone need a quiet area to work or deal with everyday correspondence while away. The two main bedrooms have super king sized beds, one of which is zip linked so can be set as a twin bedroom if required. Bedroom three is fitted with twin beds. There is an ensuite bathroom to the main bedroom which has a bath with a power shower fitted above. The family bathroom is similarly fitted with a bath and shower above.
Bosham is a very pretty quayside village and forms part of an area of outstanding natural beauty within Chichester Harbour. Wildlife and sailing co-exist at ease, this is a popular area for watersports from small sailing craft to the mooring of much larger yachts. The harbour consists of a number of tidal creeks and Bosham is probably the best known of the quayside villages. From Manorside it is a short walk down to the quayside. The coast road around the quay floods twice daily giving Bosham a changing outlook between low and high water. The church which is prominent in the village dates back to Saxon times, the earliest parts having been constructed during Canute’s reign and it is the only church to be depicted in the Bayeux Tapestry.
Bosham is a haven of boating activity in particular each summer yet also provides many wonderful opportunities to walk locally in the Chichester Harbour area. The walk around Bosham Hoe which links to the foot ferry across to Itchenor is certainly worth doing. When you look back towards Bosham from the Hoe you will always have the South Downs in the background making a picturesque backdrop.
A short distance from Bosham is Chichester, the streets are made up of listed buildings that radiate from the centre. Chichester is a cathedral city and the cathedral makes an imposing presence over the city. Chichester also boasts the Chichester Festival Theatre, with a top quality selection of plays and musicals presented each season. Many of them have transferred to London's West End after they concluded their run in Chichester.
