Brighton and Hove, and the South Downs

Brighton is an exciting cosmopolitan city by the sea with a wide range of cultures. There are plenty of golf and sporting activities of all sorts, with challenging golf courses high on the South Downs above the city offering stunning views over Brighton and out to sea.

The range of culture and sport is so broad that you will find you need to return to your self catering cottage many times to experience Brighton in full, maybe even sampling other holiday cottages in Brighton or cottages nestling high above on the South Downs.

The beautiful South Downs are so very close to Brighton and Hove and we have  rural holiday cottages in the Brighton area available to you in the stunning area. These cottages tend to have wonderful views since this part of the South Downs is so very open giving panoramic views in all directions.

Holiday lets in the South Downs provide plenty of opportunity for walking, cycling and horse riding with spectacular scenery in particular between Devil’s Dyke, the Jack and Jill Windmills at Clayton and on to Ditchling Beacon. The beautiful village of Ditchling just below has lovely holiday cottages, mixed with traditional Sussex village pubs for homely food and a relaxing atmosphere.

Holiday let destinations close to Brighton and Hove include Shoreham by Sea, in West Sussex, a lovely coastal town on the estuary of the River Adur, with holiday beach homes right on Shoreham Beach.

Further west beyond Lancing, Worthing is an attractive traditional seaside town with a fine promenade and Victorian pier. It attracts both old and young. There are many holiday apartments along its seafront. The National Bowls Championship is held in Worthing every year.

Just east of Brighton, Brighton Marina has many fine restaurants offering the visitor a variety of different cuisines with outdoor dining and tables that look out over this busy yacht harbour. Further east there are cottages in picturesque Rottingdean, nestling on the slopes of the Downs, and the beautiful coastal village of Saltdean also has many holiday lets.
